Meet Kathryn Kolaczek
CEO Alchemy Communications:
Serial Entrepreneur, Author, Speaker, Media Expert
Kathryn leads Alchemy Communication’s emerging media team, integrating inbound marketing with traditional internal and external communications to strategically maximize brand development and identity. Kathryn has first-hand knowledge of the exceptional needs of entrepreneurs and solo-preneurs. As the founder and editor of The Mompreneur Magazine, a national publication built for entrepreneurial women, Kathryn earned her social media and PR stripes as the company’s CEO and used PR as the main marketing tool to grow the magazine and develop the company’s online communication and social media strategy. Since selling The Mompreneur, Kathryn has written a book for entrepreneurial women, speaks to entrepreneurial groups and built Alchemy Communications Inc. on her strong relationships with the media across North America.

Meet Lauren McMurray: Director of Marketing & Communications
Lauren is a communications professional with a passion for creative work. In addition to her PR expertise, Lauren has experience in event planning, social media and marketing. Lauren's skills are fostered by her interests in blogging, photography and videography. Off the clock, Lauren can be found sharing her love for health and wellness, hiking the Rocky Mountains, or dreaming about traveling the world.
Meet Jennifer Beatty: Marketing Coordinator
After 10+ years of progressive experience in the financial services industry, Jennifer made the decision to enroll full-time in a Certificate in Marketing through UCLA to pursue her passion for Marketing Communications. She has enjoyed both on-campus and distance courses focused on Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Brand Management, and Consumer Research. This certificate complements her previous Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Carleton University. As an avid reader and fitness enthusiast, you can find Jennifer either immersed in a good book or taking a class at a fitness studio when she's not in the office.
Meet Karla Helm: Administrative Assistant
As a WAHM (work at home mom) Karla claims to have the best of both worlds: mom to 4 great kids with a house and barn full of animals! Her days are full of activities with the kids: Dance, sports and chores! She enjoys home projects and crafts and runs a small cake baking business. “When our schedules permit my passion is travel: anywhere warm I can fly to, and summer camping in Northern Saskatchewan”.
Meet Nicky Scott: Business Development Manager
Nicky loves people and developing and expanding relationships which she believes are at the heart of a good life and great business As a sales maven Nicky takes her role to bring your story to your target market very seriously and loves to show you what is possible. When not striving hard for her clients, Nicky is passionate about her teen boys, cows and horses, acting and is a confirmed essential oils addict.
Meet Brian Williams: COO
With over 25 years of experience in the banking, insurance, retail, and defence intelligence sectors, Brian brings a diverse background to every client engagement with a focus on developing successful sales, marketing, and leadership programs. Brian spent 10 years in the US Army serving as a ranger and intelligence officer. After leaving active duty, he completed his MBA in leadership at the University of Washington. Brian is a proven motivator with a successful track record of leading local, regional, and national teams to achieve meaningful revenue goals. He also has experience with driving cost-effective talent acquisition; creating interdependent teams, profitable sales programs, and vision; and executing well-developed strategies.
Meet Rachel Peachey: Writer
Rachel is a freelance writer, Montessori teacher, and mom of two little ones. Originally from Pennsylvania, she currently lives in Guatemala with her family where she wakes up to the best home-grown coffee in the world. Rachel enjoys working from home where she is able to spend more time with her three-year-old son and one-year-old daughter. In her free time, she volunteers at a small library that she helped start, bakes and reads whenever she gets the chance.
Meet Trisha Hamilton: Writer
Trisha graduated with an honours degree in English. She is a freelance writer and editor with more than 20 years of experience. She likes to read, write, travel, and volunteer in her spare time.
Meet John Schnall: Video Producer
John Schnall, and his company Quality Schnallity Inc, produce explainer videos, music videos, corporate pieces and sundry for clients around the world. Lots and lots of sundry. Among John's tv series credits: Director of JoJo's Circus for The Disney Channel, Animation Director of Word World for PBS Kids, Assistant Director on Disney's Stanley, and Producer of multiple spots for Sesame Workshop, MTV and Nickelodeon. John's independent films have been seen at festivals around the world, in theaters around the US, and pretty much everywhere short films are shown.
